A White Christmas in West Texas...

Trent and I went home for the holidays and awoke to a BLIZZARD! On one hand it was nice to see the snow, but on the other hand, my sister didn't make it in for Christmas Eve. After having to fly into Midland, Kasey finally made it to Lubbock around noon on Christmas Day.

Christmas was wonderful as always, and hopefully SOMEONE (hint, hint) will send me some pictures of Christmas Eve with my family! Everyone was so thoughtful in that they all thought of the little cowboy before he is here! He got an "Elf on the Shelf", several books, stylish Polo outfits, TTU booties, a Wabba Nub and a "Take Me Home Set." We got my mother, now called Bizzie, a "grandma bag" with goodies. She loved it! As we are not accustomed to boys around here, we had to stock her up on footballs, basketballs, blue blankets and bibs, etc. She is almost set!

I am 23 weeks pregnant.....that means next week I will be 6 months!!!!!!!! Everything is going well, and it is now time to hit the nursery full-force! This little guy kicks harder and harder as the weeks go by, especially after a big meal. It is so nice to think that this time next year, he will be crawling! I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET HIM...............

I am as big as......

A BANANA, and my momma can feel be kicking all the time! Yep, he is such a big boy now:) I feel him moving after each meal and in the middle of the night.......that might be a bad thing, huh! My belly is poking out more and more each week and maternity jeans are a must! Still no names as Trent and I don't agree! He still wants Jake, and I still don't!

Please excuse the wet hair and no make-up! I was faking that smile too because Trent just told me he was going to throw my camara in the trash! All my pics are blurry as Sam bit the LCD lens, and then I swear Trent dropped my purse at the last doctor's appt and broke off a little piece of the camara. Ughhhhhh......add that to my list of things to buy for the baby! He is getting expensive!!!!!!!!

Believe it or not, but it snowed at our house this past Friday:)

This past weekend it was Megan and Chase's shower! He loved all his goodies and was a perfect angel during the shower.....slept right threw it! We can't wait to meet him, Megan:) Wow...look how blurry this one is......ahhhhhh!

Tis the season......

ALMOST done decorating. Actually, the house is decorated EXCEPT for the tree, Trent's nemesis! Each year that we put up the tree, less and less of the lights work! As you can see by the picture below, about 1/4 of the lights work! Trent was so close to throwing the tree out the window that I decided not to press the issue of completing it today! So, I bought new lights.....I am "accidentally" leaving them out on the counter. Who knows....maybe he will surprise me and get them done tomorrow! I also took a picture of the mantle.......one extra stocking for "you know who!" Our family of 4 (yes, we consider our dogs family), will be a family of 5 next year. We wanted our little man's stocking up this year, as he is our precious gift this season...........

Gramzy (my mom) got us an ornament that says "Expecting a Precious Gift." It has mine and Trent's name on it with the due date:) How cute!

P.S. If you are one of the "totally symmetrical" types, please pay no mind to the placement of the stockings on the mantle. I KNOW THE AREN'T IN THE "MIDDLE!"

So much to be thankful for.....

Trent and I are really counting our blessings this year! With the news that we are having a HEALTHY baby boy, how could we not be any more thankful. In addition, we have a wonderful family, two great dogs and a future to look forward to. We spent Thanksgiving this year and with Trent's family, and all I could think about was our little man that would be with us next year!

He NEVER stops!

One of the happiest days of my life....

Trent and I found out we are having a boy! Our little man wasn't one bit modest, and we have several shots to prove it:) When we heard the tech say "boy", we sat in disbelief and then both teared up. I have always wanted a little boy.....my little cowboy:) We all know what Trent wanted.......his golf partner! Needless to say, we are still gloating (spelling) at the Booher household and have yet to stop talking about our little guy.
I took Trent to look at the fabric for the room today, and he hated all my choices! I didn't think he would have an opinion, so I have some work to do!
IIIIIII CAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNNN'TTTTT BEEEELLLIEVVVVVEE ITTTTT! We are having a boy. I am never going to go to sleep tonight......
It's like he is sitting on the camara. You can see his legs and the arrow points to the "woo hoo"

Profile.....looks like me, right?!

It was just for fun, BUT.......

an "is it a boy or girl" urine test clearly revealed that I am having a boy!!!! Who's to say if this is correct, but the box claims it is 80% accurate. My mom and sister came into town this weekend so for entertainment, we thought we would go to CVS and purchase the kit:) I think it measures testosterone in the urine.....if testostertone is present in a large quantity it signifies a boy. There is a spectrum to compare the color and mine was dark green (VERY POSITIVE FOR BOY)! We'll see in about a week the accuracy of this test. Needless to say, Trent was pumped!

I picked the fabrics for the baby's room with the approval of my mom and Kasey. My mom got us the most adorable lamp for the room. I should take a picture of it, but am too lazy to walk upstairs. I'll do that this week:)

Oh......how could I forget to write that I am feeling the baby now!!! The little chick flutters during the night or after a heavy meal. I LOVE IT:)

This may gross you out, but oh well......I wanted to show the results! See the green liquid at the bottom.....green means boy and yellow/orange is girl. Thumbs up for boy and down for girl.

It was Lauri's shower last week, and I got to see Megan's belly! She is 6 1/2 months pregnant, and still has an amazing figure, of course! I wanted my belly to look as big as hers, so I was trying to stick it out!
The little one is as long as a dollar bill this week.....

Presenting......

THE CRIB!!! I finally talked Trent into getting the crib together:) It wasn't near as bad as we had anticipated. Now, I am ready to find out boy or girl to get the bedding ready......2 weeks and 6 days left!

15 weeks and counting......

Only 3 more weeks and we find out if this little chick is a boy or girl!!!!!!! My belly is growing and growing....according to Dr. Wynne, I am on the "high end" of gaining weight for 15 weeks. Sweets have officially come to an end and apples with a "bit" of peanut butter are now on the menu. Other than that, the heartbeat sounded good (153 beats/minute) and I was fortunate enough to get the H1N1 vaccine.

The baby's room has been cleared, and I am anxiously awaiting Trent's motivation to put together the crib??????????? Once I find out boy or girl, the room will be under construction AND I CAN'T WAIT:)

This week the baby is as long as a taco shell

Quick update.....

Not much to blog about, so I thought I would just post pics:) I am now in my second trimester and can't wait to see Dr. Wynne next week. I really think I should have rented a fetal heart monitor because my anxiety is at an all time high! Why don't they at least see you 2x/month????

The baby is as long as a credit card right now......and growing!

I went to dinner with Kari, Kim
and Caroline last week. Kari
is 20 weeks and is
not finding out
what it is!

Today is Trent's birthday....breakfast in bed on the "You Are Special" plate with a candle in his breakfast burrito!

Birthday boy.....morning after a terrible loss to the Aggies. Needless to say, he is not a happy camper!

Back by popular demand.....

ha, ha......just kidding! Kim and Taylor said that I haven't been keeping up with the blog! I have not posted in a long time as work has only gotten busier and the pregnancy symptoms haven't changed much (neither has my belly!). Soooooo......I thought this morning would be a good time to post because as I am watching "Sixteen and Pregnant" on MTV (yes, I said MTV), I am crying. How stupid is that? I don't even cry on "Terms of Endearment," but I am crying while watching teenagers on MTV. There's a pregnancy symptom for ya! In addition and on a little more disgusting note, I get skin tags all over my stomach and arms. Apparantly, this too is a symptom and BETTER STOP as soon as it is over! My cravings have not changed........sweets, sweets, sweets, sweets, Cherry Limeades and popcorn (lots of butter and salt). Therefore, I think the pregnancy is going to my thighs! I have NEVER been a "sweets" person as I never eat cake, pie, ice cream, etc. But now, I could eat: breakfast-pancakes/waffles, snack-cinnamon roll, lunch-popcorn, snack-Reese's peanut butter cups, dinner-popcorn, snack-chocolate chip cookies! Okay, I surely don't eat like this, but I could! That's all for this morning, and pictures to come soon. ***Kasey, do not "edit" this post! This pregnancy is also going to my brain.....my intelligence and common sense is disappearing at a rapid rate, seriously! Don't call me and make me feel stupid.***

"Look how much I've grown......"

I am now 11 weeks pregnant......almost 12 (Saturday). Each week, I read a book that describes the baby's size. The author makes crazy comparisons, and I am finally able to make more sense of the size. For example, at 4 weeks the baby was the size of a lentil bean. Really? The only reason I know what a "lentil" bean is because Megan Sasso's grandmother used to send her cans of lentil beans in the dorms! Last week the baby was the size of a "kumquat!" Once again, really? A kumquat sounds like something you would call the annoying kid in your 3rd grade class. Well.......now our little guy/gal is the size of a lime:) Something we actually see at the grocery store!

Also, this month Trent and I celebrate our 31st birthday.....last birthday as "non-parents." Next year, we will be Mommy and Daddy......yeaaaaaaaa! On my birthday, we think that we finally came up with a name IF we have a boy. Hmmmmmm, I bet you want to know what it is.........nope!

Saturday, October 3, 2009

Ughhhhhh.....

I AM 11 WEEKS PREGNANT TODAY AND I CAN'T GET THAT STUPID CHICK UP THERE TO MOVE! DISREGARD THE "10 WEEKS AND 5 DAYS." NEXT WEEK WILL BE THE END OF MY FIRST TRIMESTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First OBGYN appointment......

Today was our first OBGYN appt with Dr. Wynne. We got all kinds of goodies and got to hear the heartbeat again! I really couldn't tell if it was fast or slow and they didn't tell me, so Elizabeth and Jenny.....no predictions! Everything looked great, but we don't get to find out the sex until the FIRST WEEK IN DECEMBER! Ughhhhh.....that is sooooo long (at 20 weeks, which is 10.5 more weeks). All in all, Trent and I were relieved to hear the heartbeat and can't wait until we go back in October. Forgot my camara, so no pics today:(

And you thought it was just GOLF.....

nope, Trent is also obsessed with war games on his XBox 360 that he plays in the evenings. However, I assure you that this will have to come to an end, in the evenings at least, because we can't have the poor baby going to sleep with sounds of guns and people getting killed. See, Trent doesn't play this game so that only he can hear it, but he puts the volume so high that I am sure the neighbors hear it!

In the back of a tailgating RV......

Trent gave me my LAST shot of progesterone! In addition, I am DONE with Metformin.........the Booher Pharmacy is slowly shutting down! I am now, officially, a normal pregnant woman and not an "in vitro" case!!!! Yesterday, we went to the TTU vs U of H (sniff, sniff....terrible loss) game and had to the pleasure of administering the last of about 13 weeks of daily injections in an old man's RV bathroom! I would have taken a picture, but I honestly don't think there was enough room to even bring in my camara!

Alex and her friend Abi came in to town for the game. I love when I see Alex and Reagan.....quick review on what's in style! I went shopping with Alex, of course, and she helped me out in the fashion department! I would just walk behind her and anything she picked up, so did I:) So, for my birthday present, Trent bought me some ankle boots. According to Alex, I can wear these with skirts, dresses, pregnancy leggings, and skinny (we may not do this) jeans. The Williams also gave the baby a TTU onesie and pacifiers!

Overall, I had a wonderful weekend. Oh, when I went to tailgate with my Ozarka water in hand, people could actually tell I was pregnant:)

PS: Did you notice that I added music to my blog:) It will skip amoung 9 songs, so I hope that each time you visit, it will be a new song.

My new "ankle" boots.......these jeans are un-buttoned and if it weren't for my ever-expanding
thighs and hips, I don't think they would have stayed up!

"My" first TTU gameday outfit!

Throwing out the meds.....

I spoke too soon.....

Last week I was a "big talker" and posted that I didn't have symptoms and felt great. Just as I said that, things changed. Lately, I have been nauseated. However, I hear that nausea is a sign of a healthy pregnancy, so each time I throw up, I do it with a smile on my face:) Then, today I was driving home from Dallas and thought my nose was running. Much to my surprise, I went to wipe my nose and the blood started flowing.....ahhhhhh! This was a little startling and being the hypochondriac that I am, I was sure I was having a frontal brain hemorrage and bleeding out my nose. I found out that this is not unusual for someone pregnant......lets just hope this doesn't happen again in public! Overall, this past week I have definitely felt pregnant and am greatful for all the symptoms. I take them as confirmation that everything is going well. For all you women out there that have yet to be pregnant, one good sign........big boobs!!!! I always thought that happened at the end, but NO MAM............I am officially a full-chested Pamela Anderson (little exaggerated)!!!!!!!!

Like I said above, I went to Dallas this weekend for a shoulder course and stayed with Kasey and Blake. Kasey got the wonderful opportunity of giving me my daily shot of progesterone......she was more scared and apprehensive than I was.....

Kasey preparing for the shot with a glass of wine and mental preparation:

Kasey couldn't believe my belly! By the end of the day, this is what it looks like:

Goodbye 45 min drive.......

hello just down the street! I found a job in Sugar Land! Living in Dallas, I worked as an OT for and outpatient ortho/burn clinic and loved it. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a job like that since living in Houston. I FOUND IT! I am working for the Methodist hospital system in an outpatient orthopedic clinic. I will be working 3-5 days a week, hopefully only 3! The plan is to work until the baby arrives, take off a few months, and then return 3 days/week. Now the only problem will be finding a nanny for my little "Spring Chicken."

Oh, and one more thing.......I can't get my little countdown chick above to point to the correct day. I am actually 8 weeks and 4 days:)

Pic of my new place of employment....10 min from my house!

It is so crazy........

.......that something so small can suck every ounce of energy you have! Many of asked how I am feeling. Luckily, I am basically feeling great. Other than being extremely tired, I do get occasional headaches. I have to admit that I am a little cranky, but Trent may argue that this isn't unusual! I have not had any nausea......knock on wood! I still look pregnant, even at seven weeks (and three days to be exact!). I have cysts on my ovaries that are making my abdomen swell. According to the doctor, these probably won't go done until the 12th week. So, I am guessing that for the next 10 months, my stomach will be expanding! This is fine with me.....I just walk around and rub my stomach like I always see pregnant women doing.....just pretending that the pooch is a baby:)

We went to are second ultrasound appt today and got to hear the heartbeat again......oh my gosh, I can't believe this is finally happening for us! Everything looked great. The baby more than doubled in size in a week (from 4.5 mm to 11.1 mm) and the heart rate was 144 beats/minute. According to Elizabeth a slow heart rate can indicate a boy (144 is on the slower end). Who knows....but, the Chinese Lunar calendar also says I am having a boy:) Here is a picture of the little bean.........

This was taken two weeks ago, and I am bigger now:)

Two aunts and an uncle!

Our little one has 2 aunts and 1 uncle. This will be the first grandchild/cousin, and we can't wait for more.....hint, hint Kasey. So, introducing..........

Aunt Kasey and Uncle Blake (my sister and brother-in-law)

Aunt Hayley
Oh, and I can't figure out how to upload a song to my blog???? Any suggestions?

It doesn't get any better than these people....

Now for the great grandparents! Trent and I are very close to our grandparents and are looking forward to them being a big part of our baby's life.

My Grandparents....aka: Nana and Gonky--Nana and Gonky have been married 60 years! They are my dad's parents, and in my opinion, the world's best grandparents. Growing up, they never missed one dance recital, basketball game, track meet, awards assembly, etc. Not many people can say that! They are truly one of kind, and I hope to bring the little one back home to Levelland as much as possible.

Trent's grandmother...aka: Nama--Nama is Celinda's mother. She also has been very involved in Trent's life and lives not too far from us. She will make a wonderful babysitter and role model. Her Christian lifestyle is definitely something we want our child to follow, and we both look forward to her guidance in the raising of our children.

Trent's grandmother....aka: Granny--Granny is Jake's mother......sweetest women in the world! She also lives close to us and looks forward to meeting the new addition. Her vote is for a GIRL! Hopefully our child, gets Granny's sweet and patient temperment (something I don't believe Trent and I can pass on!).
****Shoot, Granny's picture was also on my old computer. I will also try to hunt for those tomorrow.
Now, tomorrow I will post pics of the 2 aunts and 1 uncle. I now have to try and figure out how to put this blog to music!
Goodnight and sweet dreams.....

Grandparents

Our parents and grandparents might be just as excited if not more about our new addition! Our little one, is going to have the best grandparents and will definitely be LOVED!

My Mom----we don't have a name for her just yet. Trying to make it good and original! Trent and I are hoping that she comes down to see us as much as possible. I am confident that I will be a good mother because I learned from the best!

My Dad--He may not be with us, but I know that he will be a guardian angel for our little one. He would always talk about his future grandchild (hoping for a grandson, I am sure)! He would say that he was making a go cart path in the backyard! Well, I can promise that my child will know all about him, and I am sure he is celebrating in Heaven as we speak! It is my hope that our child will possess a few, if not all of the wonderful qualities of Larry Harder (and most of all, his sense of humor).....

Trent's Mom--another guardian angel:) What a grandmother she would be! Celinda would already have our babies clothes made, room organized, play date scheduled, etc! I so wish that she was here to give me advice, as she raised two amazing children and was a model wife and mother. Again, our child will know all about his grandmother and the wonderful person that she was.......

Trent's dad and his wife, Pat----We plan to call them Jake and Red (If that is what they agree to, of course). They too are so excited and even building a pool to make sure that they too will get time with him/her! Jake thinks this baby's name is going to be Larry Robert, but boy do I have news for him! I am so excited to live close to the both of them, as the will make wonderful grandparents and role models....

Tomorrow night I will post great grandparents and aunts/uncle! Goodnight.....what a great day:)

OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG.........

BLAHHHHHHHHH.......I CAN FINALLY TELL PEOPLE! TRENT AND I ARE HAVING A BABY! Now, everyone can quit hearing me cry and complain! This post was set up for my family to follow me, and I hope to print it out and give it to our little one. So, sometimes I may make comments that are meant for the baby! To make a long story short (as most of you know I am not by any means a "Chatty Kathy"), Trent and I have wanted a baby for a LONG time (we started trying in March 2008 despite what Suzanne and Elizabeth say). After monthS of trying, we went to a fertility specialist and tried EVERYTHING they had to offer. In vitro finally worked. On August 15, I went to give blood and was told that they would call me around noon with the results. I was in the shower at 10:12 exactly, and I heard the phone ring. I scrambled out of the shower, just in case. IT WAS DR. MCKENSIE! My heart dropped.....I answered the phone. All I remember hearing was, "You're pregnant." The tears came rolling down. I can wholeheartedly say that August 15th goes down as the best day of my life. I have a wonderful husband and a baby on the way........life couldn't get better. I hope to keep this blog as updated as I can, and hope you enjoy it. Oh.......our little bundle is due April 26th. And yes, of course we are finding out the sex of the baby! I am not one for surprises!

August 15th....I just found out!
