"Baby Got Back"

Last night Trent and I were watching TV and BOOM........a huge bump poked out of my belly! It definitely wasn't his head and was much too big to be an arm or leg.....it was his bottom (You can't say butt as a mother....very inappropriate, right?)! After we pushed on it awhile, it went away:( So, #1 trait we have noticed on cowboy: he has his dad's "toosh." Trent has a more "pronounced" bottom end, and from last night's experience I think this little man does too!

An end in sight......

Third trimester is here, people! Only 3 more months until I meet our little man. Trent and I are getting more excited as the weeks past. His room is 90% complete thanks to Trent. He surprised me and got the room painted! Just a few more "odds and ends" and I'll post pictures. Overall, I feel great with no problems. I am starting to wonder just how big a belly can get as it feels soooooo tight already. I lube up every night in an effort to combat stretch marks! My belly button is beginning to pop out....."dear belly button, please stay in and go back to you original position as soon as you can. thank you."

Bella, a.k.a. "princess," uses my belly as a pedestal when I am watching TV.
Little cowboy got to meet his future friends at Kari's shower this weekend. Kari STILL doesn't know what she is having.....so exciting! Allison will be having a little girl....maybe a future girlfriend for cowboy!

Whew.....that makes me feel better!

I am so relieved! I went to the doctor today, and when I stepped on the scale, I noticed a small sign, "this scale is 3 pounds heavy." You better believe it is! Each time I have gone to the doctor, I have been surprised at my rapid weight gain. Now, I can subtract 3 pounds from each of those visits! GGGREEEEAAATTT! Pancakes, here I come! Yes, I still crave sweets. I literally wake up thinking about pancakes and cinnamon rolls and can't wait to get home from work to eat my chocolate snack and a glass of milk:) In fact, I went to La Peep for breakfast this past Sunday. I ate a huge PLATTER of banana pecan pancakes and paid for it all day. They should have just rolled me out of there! I was sick to my stomach all day......it was worth it!

Uh, RUTABAGA????

Yes, our little cowboy is the size of a rutabaga! Don't ask me what this is or what people use this for, but I found one at HEB. It is some sort of root??? On a cooking show, I saw someone use it in a stew. Anyway, it looks fairly large, but I am guessing with his legs bent this is his actual size. Apparantly, he is around 8-9" long and weighs about 1.5 pounds:)

It was Sam's 2nd birthday on Sunday.....yes, of course we had a party:) Sam and Sue (her sister) had everyone over for hamburgers on Sunday. She can't wait for her brother to arrive!

An unexpected guest.....

IN OUR HOUSE! We have known about this little sucker for awhile and recently put poison out. Well, he ate it! This morning I was lying in bed and heard Trent squeel like a little girl. I walked out to check on him and this little guy was frozen/paralyzed in our living room.
Trent (in a manly voice): "Here, watch out. Let me get the shovel and take him outside."
After about 100 attempts to advance toward to the mouse and scoop it up, I had to take the stupid shovel and scoop him up. I quickly ran outside and dropped him off in the street with the hopes that someone one would take him out of his misery by running over him. However, I soon saw him in the new neighbor's yard! Ooops.....welcome to the neighborhood!

6 months and counting...

Only 4 more months, folks!!! I can't believe I am already six months prego, and as you can see....it shows! I still feel great and love to feel kicks. Trent was actually able to feel him for the first time:) The nursery is in full swing and I am hoping to be done with it by the end of the month. I'll post pics, don't worry:)

This past weekend I got to register......thanks to Elizabeth! I didn't really know what to get, but Elizabeth sure did. There is so much STUFF out there......what did they do back in the day when it was just baby and momma????

Thought this was a cute picture. Trent is talking to Bella, and she is definitely listening. What a good dad he is going to be!!!!!!!!!!
See.....it has groooown!

A White Christmas in West Texas...

Trent and I went home for the holidays and awoke to a BLIZZARD! On one hand it was nice to see the snow, but on the other hand, my sister didn't make it in for Christmas Eve. After having to fly into Midland, Kasey finally made it to Lubbock around noon on Christmas Day.

Christmas was wonderful as always, and hopefully SOMEONE (hint, hint) will send me some pictures of Christmas Eve with my family! Everyone was so thoughtful in that they all thought of the little cowboy before he is here! He got an "Elf on the Shelf", several books, stylish Polo outfits, TTU booties, a Wabba Nub and a "Take Me Home Set." We got my mother, now called Bizzie, a "grandma bag" with goodies. She loved it! As we are not accustomed to boys around here, we had to stock her up on footballs, basketballs, blue blankets and bibs, etc. She is almost set!

I am 23 weeks pregnant.....that means next week I will be 6 months!!!!!!!! Everything is going well, and it is now time to hit the nursery full-force! This little guy kicks harder and harder as the weeks go by, especially after a big meal. It is so nice to think that this time next year, he will be crawling! I CAN'T WAIT TO MEET HIM...............
