Ellis Celinda Booher

Ellis Celinda Booher made her arrival on 9/27/12 (all divisible by 3, which I like) at 1:11 pm.  The delivery went great, and thus far, we are adjusting well to our family of 4.  However, my mom just left yesterday, so my next post may say otherwise!  Overall, Ellis (I want to call her Elli, so we will see if it sticks) is a sweet and content baby.  She is slowly waking up from her infant coma, which scares me a little.  This is the time that all hell (pardon the French) broke loose at our house with Brooks!  She does prefer to sleep during the day and party at night, but this isn't my first rodeo and I am adjusting to no sleep better than last time.

Brooks is handling the change well with little jealously.  Is he acting out?  Not sure....he acted out pre-Ellis, so it's hard to say!  He is very interested in her and wants to hold her a little too much.....in fact, he wants to suction her nose, change her diaper, feed her, swing her at warp speed, spread shampoo on her face, squeeze her head, brush her hair, etc.  We have to keep a close eye on him!  He means well:)

Me....well, at least I am not breastfeeding!  If you are familiar with my situation with Brooks, you know why.  NOT MY THING!!!!  Yes, I am a hypochondriac BUT I feel that I deal with pain well and have a relatively fair tolerance.  However, for the past 5 days, I have had terrible stomach pains that were interfering with my sleep (or lack there of) and would cause be to double over in pain throughout the day.  It kept getting worse and lasting longer.  So.....last night, I had an episode and could not get relief.  I was just sure that I had an obstruction, impaction, fragments of placenta or something terrible!  I went to the emergency clinic down the street.  I never knew what I was about to have to go through:
1.  They put me on an IV as soon as I got there
2.  Took 2 viles of blood
3.  Tried to give be a shot of Vicoden and Zofran (No, thank you...I refused as the needle was as long as my index finger)
4. Cat scan of abdominal area
5.  Sat in freezing cold room for 3 hours
AND......
I LEFT WITH A DIAGNOSIS OF GAS AND CONSTIPATION (and a nice little bill to come, I am sure).
(Just to make myself feel better,  they did see several trapped gas bubbles and "significant" constipation).

So, I went home and took Magnesium Citrate (I drank what seemed like a gallon of bitter juice) and waited for a bomb to hit.  I will spare you the details but "Operation Clean Out the Intestines" was a success.  I spent most of the night rocking my sweet, innocent little baby girl on the toilet.  What else would I rather be doing, right?!

Cheers to parenthood!

Last 2 (maybe less!) weeks as a fam of 3....

Well, STILL here!  I should probably do something with myself before taking these pics as you can clearly see, but the truth is, I am tired!  Having a toddler and 38 weeks pregnant isn't easy folks:)

We took Brooks to Benihana's for one of our last dates as a family of 3:(  Trent and I are excited to meet Ellis, but at the same time, we are sad that these are our last few days with our little guy.

I had a cute picture of him eating with chopsticks.  Not sure where is went???  This is my first time to blog from my iphone....thanks, Jenny!

Here we go again.....

It's getting time for BABY!!!!!  I now know what to expect, so as anxious as I am to meet our little girl, I am also very apprehensive.  Is Brooks ready?  Remember those sleepless nights???  I won't even mention my problems with breastfeeding......ARE WE READY???????????  It seems like this pregnancy has flown by, and I can't believe we only have 3 more weeks (or less but NO MORE).

Below is a pic from "Girls Weekend Houston"  We didn't go far this year due to pregnancy and new babies in the picture.  I didn't get to partake in the margaritas this year but had a wonderful time at our yearly reunion.  Great girls!!!!!!

The two preggers with Shirley Temples
So Kim to wear that hat!!!
 Out to dinner
 Mama needs to rest!
Had a small little lunch for Ellis.......whoops, I haven't announced her name yet!  The present gives it away though.  Yes, our little girl's name is Ellis.  I have had mixed reviews about it, but you know what....Trent and I love it.  That's all that matters, period.  No, it's not a family name!  It's truly amazing the remarks people have the nerve to say about it.  As you can tell, I am getting a little hormonal!

 Kari and me
Brooks went to the dentist for the first time.  He did suprisingly well much to my surprise!
34 weeks, no make-up and terrible hair!

First day of preschool, and wouldn't put gun down for picture.
 Practicing being "sweet" to baby!
My photographer (ummm, Trent), cut my head off?

One more quick story about this pregnancy..........okay, I went to the doctor today.  I am all of 37 weeks pregnant and look like I am about to explode.  I enter the office, get a magazine and sit down in the waiting room.  Less than a minute later, I felt like my pants were wet.  I feel my backside and sure enough, I had water (or who knows what!) all down my pants.  Trying to be cool and non-chalant, I walk up to the receptionist and ask to go to the bathroom.  All the nurses see my pants, and we all wonder if my water broke.  I, of course, am freaking out inside!  I wait for them to get the examination kit ready and return to the waiting room.  I started to take a picture of the chair to text to my Mom and Kasey.  In the meantime, a lady comes over and says, "I think that water MIGHT have been there before you sat down."  MIGHT? WHAT TO YOU MEAN, MIGHT!!!!  Anyway, after they checked me out, NO my water did not break.  I must have sat in SOMETHING.  I tell myself it was spilt water and try not to think of all the things I could have actually sat on!!!  Only me!  I asked the doctor if that was some joke that the office plays on pregnant women!  He assures me it was an accident, but I am still skeptical!  Too funny!

Ranch

Our friends and neighbors, Christina and Mia, have a ranch not too far outside of Houston.  They invited us to go in July (yes, I know....I am late).  Brooks was fascinated by all the animals.  I didn't get pics of EVERYTHING!  Just to name a few......dogs, cats, peacocks, pig, roosters, ponies, horses, donkeys were all there!  A toddlers dream world!

This pig (I forgot his name) would come up to us on the porch and eat cheerios.  There were several roosters that would do the same.  Brooks constantly asked to feed them!

 My little ranch man
There were 2 peacocks.  Those little guys are much louder than I expected.

Had to test out the "tractor," of course!

They also have a playhouse for the kids.
Yep, it's two story!  So cute
 Small piano included!
 And a huge sandbox
 AND playground equipment

 Cute little ponies

Summer Time Fun......

Lots of pics to follow!  We have had such a fun beginning to the summer.  Mama Tuff (as Brooks calls me) is growing by the day and thankful that this summer hasn't been as hot as last!  Our little girl is due 3 months from today, and we are getting more and more anxious.  Brooks has NO idea what's about to go down.......he now points to HIS tummy and says, "Baby in there."  Not sure he gets it!
Loves to sing.......favorite song:  "Happy Birthday to Brooks."
Colonel (Aunt Karen)....such a sport!
Morgan came to Sugar Land for awhile, and Brooks couldn't have received more attention!  What a fun weekend and LOVED having her around.
 Brooksie loves wrestling with Dad
Aunt Hayley

Natalie also came!  When we go swimming now, Brooks says, "Natalie going to be there?"
 Little Miss Sydney
 Golf lesson by Morgan
 Worn out!
His GREAT Aunt Rhonda.....Rhondi!!  He always asks to see pictures on the computer of "Rhondi"
Helping Mama Tuff in the kitchen.......the things we do to keep these kiddos occupied.  This activity really set off Trent's OCD.  Rice was everywhere!
Even in his mouth!  How well does uncooked rice digest???
27 weeks....she sits much lower than Brooks
Baking ("painting" as Brooks refers to icing) 4th of July cookies

Out of order but couldn't leave it out.....too cute!
