Desperate times call for desperate measures...........

Okay, for all of you out there that have been pregnant, you know just how much advice people CAN'T WAIT to give you! Well, lately everyone I see has some sort of "special" way to induce labor.............eat pineapple and ginger, walk a lot, spicy foods, etc. However, today topped it off. A sweet patient from Saudi Arabia brought in a zip lock back full of huge black roach-looking things. Apparantly, there is some type of special date tree in her home country where you get these types of dates. Her mother-in-law brought some to the States for her, and she delivered them to me. According to my patient, this is what women in her country eat to induce labor. She said it worked on her and all her friends?????????????? Usually, I steer away from eating what my patient's bring me (you never know!), but this time...........I AM IN! I am about to eat one with a chaser near by. Like I said, "desperate times call for desperate measure!" Here's goes nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The eviction notice has been delivered.................

Our little cowboy NEEDS TO COME! I keep telling him how ready we are, and I know that he is totally cramped in there! I am 39 weeks and 1 day.....yikes. Things are continuing to move slowly, and we visit the dr again on Tuesday. To spare you all the details, she plans to perform a procedure on Tuesday that should get things going. Last week, she asked me if I wanted to schedule an induction and I immediately said, "NO!" I got scared!!!!!!! It's so weird........ I have known this was going to happen for 10 months, and when it's GO time, I feel like I am about to get on the largest roller coaster in the world! Hopefully, it will happen naturally, so that I have no choice and can't say NO!!!
I am still working and plan to continue this week. My patients look at me each time I go get them and say, "you're STILL here?" Then you hear comments at work, store, neighborhood, etc. like, "wow, you look like you are going to bust" or "aren't you miserable" and "maybe you need to go lay down and rest your feet!" Well honestly, I don't feel that tired or uncomfortable............I AM JUST AAAAANNNNXXXXXXIIIIIIOOOOOOOUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSS!
These are updated belly pics. You can see that I have "dropped" and look like I might tip over!

Bags all packed..............

and NO WHERE TO GO! I guess we can just start putting the swing set together because by the time our little man comes, he'll be climbing monkey bars. Yep, absolutely NO progress in any area of all that labor "stuff." Seems as though our little cowboy is very comfortable and no problems with momma that might indicate inducing early. Don't get me wrong, I am very happy that he is doing well, and I know it's good that he stays in as long as possible.............but, I am beginning to become uncomfortable and a "bit" anxious. I mean.....is he going to come out as a Sumo wrestler or what? The doctor predicts possibly the end of April/first week of May. Excuse me.........May? I thought I was having an April baby?

Excuse me, Mom........

But I just love resting my head on your bladder! Yes, I think our little cowboy is resting comfortably with his head on my bladder and left foot under my rib.....sounds pleasant, huh!? I am now 37 weeks and with no progress in site! I have been seeing my dr. every week and she says that he has dropped but no indications of this little guy coming soon. He no longer gently kicks.....he punches and shoves! Our house is COMPLETELY ready for a baby (except for Bella, of course) and I am counting the minutes. I am going to continue working until he comes to curve any further anxiety that sitting in my houses brings. AND......if you think I am anxious, you should meet the "baby daddy!" He is a nervous wreck, can't concentrate on anything and asks a million questions. This is NEVER how I pictured Trent, but it's kind of cute. He got to hold a infant boy today and came home saying, "I am ready for him to get here. I really want to see what this little guy looks like." Last night he was throwing a football with Cullen and said, "I can't wait to do this with my son one day." Well, "here's to the future, Trent.....it's almost here!" Needless to say, WE COULDN'T BE MORE EXCITED..................................
We went to "Life with Baby" class this past Saturday. We stayed for the first hour of the class:) The weather was beautiful outside and we both made the decision that we would benefit more from taking advantage of the nice weather to play with our dogs than to sit in a class crowded with expectant parents that wanted to share their LIFE stories. You know "those" people that just love the ask questions so that everyone thinks they're sooooooooooo smart, or those that are 8 months pregnant and haven't read a SINGLE thing about what's to come, and then the instructor that spoke about her experience with raising her three girls for about 30 minutes...........well, our class with filled with "those" types! I have read more books, highlighted, tabbed and made copies of how to swaddle, etc. than I can stand at this point. Yes, I know that it will probably all go down the drain once he's here, but at least I FEEL prepared!

And then, there's the feet....after work! My ankles and feet are no longer "MY" ankles and feet!

Happy Easter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's Spring time in Houston.....

This past Sunday we were finally able to do something outside....comfortably, that is! The weather has been beautiful in Sugar Land, and we spent all day outside on Sunday. Sam and Sue love the golf cart!

As far as our little cowboy, he's still hanging out! I am almost 35 weeks, and it definitely shows! Began working M-W-F this week for a little R & R. Trent has put together everything, and now we are just looking for places to put it all! These babies will take over your home! Our only problem.....Bella! She HATES babies/small children, especially if they are any where near Trent or me:( Any suggestions? She is in for a rude awakening.....I think we are too!

33 weeks and counting......

Getting closer.....only 7 weeks to go!!!!!!!!!! Cowboy is now the size of Bella......he's curled up, of course! Everything is still going well, but I can say that I am now actually feeling "pregnant." I have cankles due to swelling, I go to the bathroom a minimum of 4 times a night, I am super clumsy and absent-minded, the bottom part of my belly is sometimes exposed and I don't notice, I drop food all over my belly, I have to catch my breath after walking one flight of stairs, blah, blah, blah! I'm not complaining though.....it will all be worth it, right???!!!!!!!

Introducing...........the nursery! For all of you nosey people out there, the "b" is for Booher.

My expanding family and I feel so blessed......

We have had three wonderful showers with all our friends and family! I can truly say that I AM READY!!!!!!!!!!! I think I have everything we need.....except our little man. I appreciate everything from each and every one of you, especially for your support. Only 7 1/2 weeks to go.....yikes! Trent and I will be going to some classes this month.....Trent's idea (yea right!). As you can see from the pics below, Trent is loving all of the toys cowboy received. He practiced his golf swing with Bella in the Baby Bjorn! Yes, I am sure Trent thinks that we will head straight to the golf course from the hospital! His room is ready including the bathroom and I have boxes stacked for Trent to get busy putting things together. Again, Trent and I feel so blessed that we have so much support and can't wait to be Mommy and Daddy.............

oh, I will post pictures of the expanding belly and nursery later this week:)
